If you’re an adventure enthusiast or a nature lover, the upcoming trip to Saputara and Salher Fort is an opportunity you can’t miss. This blog post will guide you through the itinerary, providing a glimpse into the breathtaking beauty and cultural richness of these destinations.

The journey begins with a night departure from Ahmedabad, ensuring you arrive at your destination fresh and ready to explore. The pickup points include the LIC Building at Shivranjni at 22:50 and CTM Express Highway at 23:50, making it convenient for travelers from different parts of the city to join this exciting adventure.

Upon arrival at Saputara, a picturesque hill station nestled in the Dang district of Gujarat, you will be greeted by the serene landscapes and the refreshing morning air. Known as the only hill station in Gujarat, Saputara sits at an elevation of about 1,000 meters above sea level and is famous for its cool climate and verdant greenery. After freshening up and enjoying a hearty breakfast at the campsite, you will have some leisure time to relax, take photographs, and soak in the natural beauty of the surroundings.

Post lunch, the exploration begins with a visit to Table Point and Governor Hill. Table Point is a flat expanse at the top of a hill, offering panoramic views of the entire Saputara region. It’s an ideal spot for photography, paragliding, and enjoying the spectacular sunsets and sunrises. Governor Hill, on the other hand, provides a more tranquil experience with its lush greenery and scenic views, perfect for a peaceful retreat. The day continues with an exploration of Saputara city, where you can immerse yourself in the local culture, visit the markets, and perhaps pick up some local handicrafts as souvenirs.

As the day draws to a close, you will return to the campsite for dinner. The night is set to come alive with a music and Garba program, offering you a taste of local traditions and a chance to dance under the starlit sky. The accommodation for the night will be in comfortable tents, providing a rustic yet cozy experience amidst nature.

The second day promises an adrenaline rush with a trek to Salher Fort, which boasts the second-highest peak in Maharashtra. The fort is historically significant, being a site of numerous battles and offering breathtaking views of the Sahyadri mountain range. After an early breakfast, you will travel approximately 50 kilometers by local vehicle to reach Salher village, the starting point of your trek. The trek itself is a challenging yet rewarding journey, taking about 4 to 5 hours to reach the peak. At the summit, you can enjoy a packed lunch while taking in the 360-degree panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The descent back to Salher village will be equally thrilling, and by late evening, you will return to the campsite. The day concludes with a delightful dinner and a lively dance party, celebrating the adventurous day you’ve had.

On the third day, after breakfast, you will visit the magnificent Gira Waterfall in the Dang district. This waterfall is a natural marvel, cascading from a height of about 30 meters, creating a misty atmosphere and a picturesque setting. It’s an ideal spot for nature photography and simply unwinding in the lap of nature.
